Research report on mineral processing of an iron ore in Xinjiang


The purpose of a trial is conducted in Xinjiang hematite beneficiation tests research, for the development of deposits, provide a preliminary basis for the possibility of utilization.

The iron ore is breccia red iron jasperite. Most of the iron is cryptocrystalline iron oxide, a small part of hematite, and occasionally magnetite. The main mineral hematite metal content of about 9%, an iron oxide mass, content of about 41.5%, trace magnetite. The gangue mineral is mainly quartz , the content is about 23%; the barite is about 24%; the iron dolomite is about 2.5%.

The ore is divided into two types of ore and powder. The ore contains TFE 23.86%, SiO 2 41.75%, powder ore TFe 41.76%, and SiO 2 26.39%. The mixed mineral sample used in the test has a TFE of 38.58% and a SiO 2 of 29.03%. The raw ore contains sulfur and the phosphorus is low.

The test uses two process schemes. (1) Calcination-magnetic separation, the obtained iron concentrate grade TFe 58.08%, the recovery rate is 64.18%, and the iron concentrate contains SiO 2 14.81%. (2) The reverse flotation process scheme obtained the iron concentrate grade TFe 58.93%, the recovery rate was 60.46%, and the iron concentrate contained 8.29% of SiO 2 .

The ore nature study results show that more than 40% of the iron in the ore is cryptocrystalline iron oxide, and it is a powdery polymer. During the beneficiation process, most of it is lost to the tailings or washed away by water. This is one of the important reasons for the low iron recovery rate. In addition, the red iron jasperite, silicon silicide, heavy crystal petrochemical and iron dolomitization will cause a large amount of iron loss.

The hematite in the ore is only about 9%, mostly very fine (0.001~0.05mm), which is needle-like or dusty particles scattered in the rock. The inlaid relationship between hematite and jasper is caused by iron An important reason for the low grade of the mine.

The mine uses strong magnetic (13660 Oersted) and re-election (shaker) sorting results. Although it can obtain more than 56% of iron concentrate, the recovery rate is very low. Due to the large amount of medium ore, the reverse flotation process needs to be further realized in production practice.

The ore is breccia, red iron and jasperite, and the size of the inlay is extremely fine, which is a difficult ore. The test uses two processes of roasting magnetic separation and reverse flotation, and the obtained indicators provide a preliminary basis for the possibility of development and utilization of the deposit. Compared with the same type of ore at home and abroad, the selection index is better. However, due to the fine grain size of the ore, the high grinding cost and the high cost of roasting magnetic separation, the inhibitor starch and the collector KS-1# used in the reverse flotation process are relatively expensive, and the large amount of pulp needs to be heated. It is recommended to choose which scheme to use when developing the ore, and detailed economic and technical comparison and cost accounting should be carried out.
