The total annual production capacity of propane-based propylene with technical agreements signed has reached 5.67 million tons, and a total of 2.6 million tons of projects have been carried out in the previous phase. Experts reminded companies that using imported propane to make propylene must take into account the possibility of obtaining long-term, stable, relatively low-cost propane raw materials while considering favorable factors.

The economics of the process for the dehydrogenation of propane to propylene depends on the difference between propane and propylene. From 2004 to 2010, the average price difference between imported propylene and imported propane (including tax) is US$581 (t price, the same below). According to preliminary calculations by experts, a propane dehydrogenation to propylene plant was built in East China, and the average price of propane FOB in Middle East was calculated at US$790 last September. The cost price of the production of propylene-containing tax was 9,973 yuan (based on other manufacturing costs and period costs of 1,283 yuan. From the viewpoint of production raw materials, the dehydrogenation of propane to propylene requires the purity of raw material propane to be at least 97%. Existing foreign propane dehydrogenation units use high-purity, low-sulfur propane derived from wet oilfield associated gas as raw materials. In China, the associated gas resources in wet oil fields are relatively scarce, and domestically produced liquefied gas is a by-product of petroleum refining. It is a mixed gas with high impurity content and high sulfur content. The quality of propane in domestically produced liquefied gas cannot satisfy the propane dehydrogenation process. Raw material requirements. Therefore, domestically-built propane dehydrogenation units must import high-purity liquefied propane produced by non-refinery plants that are sourced from foreign oilfield associated gas.

A person in charge of the strategy department of Jiangsu Huachang Chemical Co., Ltd. emphasized that the total annual production capacity of propane to propylene is 5.67 million tons, which refers to the propylene production capacity, and the production of 1 ton of propylene products consumes 1.1 tons of propane. From 2013 to 2014, there were more than 10 devices. If it is completed and put into production, it will require more than 6 million tons of propane. At present, China imports about 2 million tons of liquefied propane. By that time, the propane import demand for propylene production will be tripled, and only high-purity propane can dehydrogenate to propylene. If all of the more than 10 domestic projects are put into production, the concentrated release of demand for high-purity propane will have an impact on the global propane trade pattern, which will directly lead to an increase in imported propane prices.

Yan Leping, a senior engineer of Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company, believes that companies must consider the long-term and stable supply of propane raw materials for the propane dehydrogenation to propylene project. Currently, international liquefied propane supply is monopolized by a small number of cross-border traders. International trade supply Traders are often reluctant to conduct similar large-scale transactions with companies without transaction records. They set higher restrictions on companies that have entered the international trade of liquefied propane, and they have certificates of credit, storage facilities, terminal conditions, payment time and methods. Higher requirements; At the same time the procurement of mostly large-scale frozen ships transport, loading is generally more than 40,000 tons, so the import of liquefied propane also depends on the conditions of the port, must have a dedicated liquefied propane cryostat boat parking deep loading docks, large cryogenic Freezers and other facilities, but also large-scale construction of large-scale low-temperature frozen tank investment.

Yan Leping suggested that in order to ensure the long-term operation of the equipment, taking into account the uncertainties of imported propane loading, exporting, shipping, importing, customs declaration, unloading, and transportation, the company should have 15 days of inventory, that is, should have inventory For 60,000 tons, calculated at 790 US dollars, it will require 300 million yuan of funds, requiring companies to have sufficient liquidity. Therefore, companies that import propylene propanol into the project should carefully consider and plan scientifically and think twice before proceeding.
